Every US broker’s data export, on one page. The exact clicks, the file format you’ll get, and the trap each platform hides — for Robinhood, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Webull, E*TRADE, Vanguard, Interactive Brokers and Merrill Edge.

Your broker exports are your evidence trail — your consolidated 1099 covers what that broker knows, but noncovered cost basis and wash sales across accounts are yours to track and prove. This one-pager saves you the hunting: print it, pin it, export quarterly.

What’s inside

Tracking UK platforms too? The UK edition of this cheat-sheet covers Trading 212, Hargreaves Lansdown, eToro and 5 more. Per-broker walkthroughs are rolling out on the blog, starting with Robinhood.

Platform-specific walkthroughs: our Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard and Webull export guides cover each platform’s trap in detail.

Is it really free — no email?

Yes. Download it directly, share it freely. If you find an export path that’s changed, we’d love to hear about it — menus move, and we re-check the sheet quarterly.

How current is the information?

Every path was last checked in July 2026 against official broker help pages, and the sheet is refreshed quarterly. Broker UIs change without notice — if something looks different, the current step-by-step guides live on our blog.

Why keep old exports if I get a 1099 anyway?

Your consolidated 1099 covers what one broker knows for one year. Noncovered shares, cost basis across transfers, and wash sales that span brokers are your job to substantiate — and the IRS can ask years later. Your exports are the record that answers.
